fit or fat?

Feeling a bit less than fabulous today in the sweltering weather - mid 30s, but decided to take a picture and share the belly anyway. The little guy is still kicking up a storm in the evenings (quiet in the mornings - just my luck!)

Also wanted to say thanks to everyone who is keeping up with this blog and sending the positive comments my way. It feels great to know that you are all behind us!

Lots of luck to my new "belly-buddy" Cara who is due a few weeks before me in October and who has just signed on with the same doula I did, Jo. I am looking forward to exchanging notes & more with Cara & other new mums, old mums, mums-to-be ;)

Gilbert Feels a Kick!

In all the excitement of the baby's starring role in the video, I forgot to mention that on Thursday night Gilbert and I were lying in bed and the little guy was kicking (or waving?) up a storm as usual. I said to Gilbert "It's too bad you can't feel this!" Gilbert wanted to give it a try, so we found a good spot on my tum for him to leave his hand and waited like two fisherman at dawn until... yup! He felt it! 'Twas a great moment for us both that he could FINALLY share what I'd been babbling about for a couple of weeks now ;)

Ultrasound 21 weeks!

We went in for the ultrasound today - so much fun! We saw the baby move around, suck his thumb, saw his heart beat, and oh yes... confirmed that he's DEFINITELY a boy (with what my OB/GYN charmingly called "the porno shot" - it's pretty unmistakable!)

Bottom line: all is wonderful - both baby and mum are very healthy! YAY! :)

a small milestone

Last night I was coming home late from downtown when something funny happened: someone offered me a seat on the bus!

It's never happened to me before in my life - I guess the tummy is really showing now! :)
