Little Hat - too cute!

I couldn't resist posting a picture of this - a baby's hat sent to us by Simon and (sister-in-law-to-be) Jen: I don't know how they did it, but it is a little hat with the name "Baby Bear" (our nickname for the little guy for the moment) as well as two hockey sticks - too cute! Of course, I had to explain to Gilbert that they were hockey sticks and not golf clubs - guess where his mind is at the moment????

Andy Warhol's Tum

Fooling around with PhotoBooth on the Mac - Andy Warhol would be proud ;)

lazy summer baby

Hi all,

Just a quick update to say that I went to the OB/GYN yesterday and all is well - I stopped gaining too much weight and the baby is, as always, moving around, hiccuping and enjoying life. He is also settled in to a nice relaxed position at the bottom of my tum - hammock style. Must be something to do with being a summer baby - or having a Jamaican uncle? :)

Pics from baby's room

Hi all,

I have a few things to report - mainly that I LOVE swimming in lake water - discovered this after our week's vacation in Mont Tremblant where I spent most of my time floating around in the water. (The giant belly acts like an internal life preserver) It was absolute heaven!

We also took Clearlight's (my yoga instructor - yes, that is her real name...) birth preparation class on Saturday and had a lot of fun trying out different positions for labour, breathing, humming etc. Gilbert actually said that it wasn't too zen-yoga for him and that he quite enjoyed it - fibbing is an essential skill for a new dad-to-be don't you think? :)

Here are the latest pics of the baby's room which continues to evolve and one of my belly - which gets bigger and bigger and bigger...

Thanks again for keeping up with us!

Doula Visit

Hi all,

Just a quick update to say that we just had our first visit with Jo, our doula and it went very well. We chatted for an hour and a half about how we are doing so far, things to prepare in advance (lots and lots of food), different tests & questions for the ob/gyn etc. I have a few essential items to prepare but mostly it seems we are on the right track. I will bring some baby books with me next week when we are on holiday in Tremblant!

We finally finished furnishing the baby's room - a bit mad, I know with just under three months to go - but most of the stuff was given to us anyway, so we thought we'd do it while we had the energy & enthusiasm for it. Alain and Anik gave us their old crib - I was quite hesitant about it but miraculously it was simple enough for our tastes and, most importantly, it fits into the space in the small room! I even managed to squeeze in a bookshelf and Mum's rocking chair so there is lots of room for rocking and reading later on!

Pictures to come soon - I promise!

Lots of love to you all,

P.
